The Redway School Foundation Stage consists of two part time classes (Caterpillars 1 and 2) for the youngest children and one full time class for children who have had their 4th birthday, called the Butterflies class. The classes share a garden play area, as well as joint activities such as swimming and our weekly assembly. We recognise what an important time starting school is and value the close links we have developed with families. We do this through joint assessments and planning, the daily home/school diary, and careful preparations for starting school. This may include parents spending the first few days with their child in class. Families are also invited to be involved in their child’s education by working with their child in our specialist swimming sessions and joining in fun activities such as local walks.
