On a damp morning 4 pupils from Primary, Siobhan, Sam, Mahin and Tony travelled to Caldecotte to join in the Challenge Day. We worked in mixed groups and so were able to interact with pupils from lots of other schools from the local area, who were there too. Each group had a set programme, divided into 3 short team building activities and one larger, more challenging activity.

Some of the short activities included ‘The Danger Swamp’ – a pretend swamp which the group had to travel over using just 15 small wooden blocks and the help of the group, without putting any part of their body in the Swamp. ‘The Electric Fence’ – 3 wooden pallets and 1 wooden plank, where the group had to get themselves and their bucket of water from the 1st pallet to the 2nd pallet and then the 3rd pallet, without any members touch the floor while avoiding the pretend handing wires of the electric fence on the middle pallet.

Mahin and Sam experienced caving as their main activity, whilst Siobhan and Tony turned their hands to archery. The pupils worked really hard for the whole morning, interacted with other children from the schools appropriately and participated in all the activities as much as they could, to the best of their abilities and confidence!
