Happy Half Term Holiday everyone!
We all really enjoyed and took advantage of the lovely warm sun shine on Thursday and Friday with classes going out into the local community – which everyone enjoyed.
This past week has been our MFL week where we have been focussing on Greece and Greek! Pupils have had fun and have not only been dressing up in ancient Greek costumes but also have been experiencing Greek music, food, and traditions as well as learning about some of the Greek heroes! This ties in well with our whole school topic of Myth and Legends.
Simon led assembly on Wednesday – all about Valentine’s Day, pupils made Valentines cards, gave red roses to their friends, sang favourite songs and Simon also challenged the staff to make icing sugar! A bit of a mess was made to say the least!
We have now another meeting room / staff workroom. This previously was Team PE’s office – they have relocated! It’s been painted and cleaned, but now requires a heater to be installed and a display board but it will help teachers with some workspace but also be useful for meetings too.
Over the holiday week there is a lot happening in school, the sun room and other areas of school are being painted – especially where we have had the old lights removed for the new LED ones to be fitted. Plus, various equipment is being tested to ensure its still safe. We are also ‘resting’ the pool as it needs some time for the chemicals to settle and refresh, due to some issues this week.
I have various meetings in school this week, one of them being with the team who are sorting out our two new classrooms that are soon to be built – all about the décor and ‘finishing touches!’ I’m looking forward to that meeting. The others are not quite as exciting.
Enjoy the holiday week everyone, we will as always look forward to welcoming everyone back after the mid-term break.
