On Friday November 14th pupils and staff were joined by The Mayor – Jan Lloyd, Dr P Starkey MP, together with other dignitaries from the Local Authority and school governors for the official opening of our new MiLE (Multisensory Interactive Learning Environment) Room.
Everyone was truly amazed at the new room, all its resources and the different ways in which it can be used to support the curriculum, but also to develop and enhance the communication and interaction skills of the pupils.
In addition everyone was able to hear the new CD we have just released of The Redway School Choir singing ‘Everything will be Alright’ together with a slide show of photographs of its making.
On the way to look at the new developments in the pool we met Patrick with 2 students from his group, with their mini enterprise stall who were keen to use this as a photo opportunity as well as selling some of their goods to the visitors!
The new sensory equipment and underwater LED lighting were shown to the visitors by the pupils using the pool – and nobody got wet!
The Mayor commented stated that the new resources were ‘absolutely wonderful’ and that she couldn’t wait to come along and spend a day in school working with the pupils!
Well done to everyone for making it such a success.
