4th November

I hope that everyone had a good and relaxing October half term week. The staff were all glad to back at school on Monday for our training day. We had a varied programme, taking in some learning and also some activities to enhance the well being of the staff.

Pam and Kate our physiotherapists led a theoretical training session for the majority of staff and will follow this through with a practical session in January. This was very informative and well received by staff.

Other sessions included Yoga with Marie, Singing with Jo, Music with Jenni, Massage with Leanne, to name but a few but everyone embraced the activities and learning opportunities on offer. There was a good ‘buzz’ in the air at school.

We were though pleased to welcome the pupils back on Tuesday and, as always they were glad to be back!  There were lots of happy and smiling faces.

Pupils from Cassia and Daffodils Classes went to a tennis festival on Tuesday where they actively participated in all the activities on offer, learnt new skills and had fun in learning.

We held interviews this week for more STA’s as we have some vacancies and I am pleased to say that we appointed 5 more. We are still recruiting for several other members of staff including a physiotherapy assistant, part time speech and language therapist, as well as other posts.

All classes this week had some sessions around Halloween and also fireworks and bonfire night. Assemblies on Friday had the theme of fireworks, with the school going out onto the playground to watch Peter light lots of fireworks. They really loved this – especially the rockets.

Dare I say it, but Christmas is fast approaching and class teachers are in the midst of planning Christmas visits out and I am in the process of finalising the Christmas Concerts! As always it will be a special time of year for all our pupils. I am pleased to report that once again the Duke of Bedford has kindly agreed to donate 2 Christmas Trees to school, one for each site.

Hoping you are all having a lovely weekend. We look forward to seeing you all at our parent’s consultation afternoon on Monday.
