A quiet week in school – a busy one down in Devon where a group of pupils and staff went to The Calvert Trust for a four night stay.
News from the residential:
Everyone had a great time and the pupils excelled rising to all the challenges that were presented to them, definitely out of their comfort zones. With the support of school and Calvert staff they were able to participate fully in all activities. There were so many highlights from the week its impossible to pick any one as outstanding. The weather was not the best it has been – wet and windy. Our visit to Woolacombe on Wednesday morning was a windy one, but surprisingly warm - not so in the afternoon, in contrast to June when the abseil wall was too hot to touch last Wednesday afternoon it was wet and cold! We laughed a lot and had fun in everything that we did.
As always a huge thanks goes to all the staff for their hard work and for giving up their time to ensure the visit could go ahead and be the success it was. The responses from the pupils when they had completed an activity were amazing to see – they were proud of themselves as we were.
There will be an article on our school website soon with photographs.
News from school:
In school it’s been a quiet week, as it always is during the couple of weeks before Christmas really starts. Staff have been working hard in preparing activities to do in class over the festive season. Our set book for Christmas activities is ‘Stick Man’ and some pupils in Transitions will be going to see this at The Stables on the last day of term.
So next week - - we have our end of term class Christmas outings starting, our first band practice for the Christmas Concert on Monday after school. (I’d best do some practice then this weekend!)
We also have new pupils visiting who will be starting with us in January. We are looking forward to them joining our school.
Please remember that Friday December 1st is a training day so school is closed for all pupils.
Hoping everyone is having a good weekend and keeping warm - - I am off on a long run early in the morning but most importantly am looking forward to being back in school on Monday and seeing everyone again.
