Christmas has arrived and the school is decorated in true Redway style! It’s going to be a very busy but joyful and fun filled two and a half weeks to the end of term, which we will all enjoy.
On Friday we had our training day where we did a host of essential things, medical update training, practicing our signing to the Christmas songs, as well as team building activities including decorating the school. Santa’s Grotto is almost complete and I know there will be some magical photos from this. I have no doubt that the pupils will be in ‘awe and wonder’ of how school is looking when they arrive on Monday.
Several teachers were also at a conference in London on Thursday and Friday to extend their knowledge and understanding of working with our pupils as well as networking with staff from other schools. The feedback from this has been very positive.
We had our first school rehearsal on Thursday for the concert at Christ the Cornerstone that is next Thursday, December 7th at 2pm and this week we have another practice as well as one for the concert at the church of Woughton on the Green. Please remember that space is limited and so we ask that only two people (adults and children) attend per pupil. Di is working hard in sorting out the transport arrangements as well as the seating plans for the two Christmas lunches.
This Friday is our Christmas Fayre from 1pm – 2:30pm for which we would welcome any donations of bric a brac, DVD’s, books, clothes and of course nearer to Friday, cakes. Santa’s Grotto will be open! Raffle tickets are on sale at £1 per strip and the raffle will be drawn at 2:15pm. We will look forward to seeing you all there.
Christmas end of term visits are also continuing this week, with classes going to a host of different venues.
This weeks photographs are from the residential – where all pupils and staff made some significant achievements.
Hoping everyone is having a good weekend.
