Daffodils and Poppies are Classes of the Week 4th May

Daffodils have embraced our Caribbean topic this half term. We have enjoyed exploring and tasting some of the different fruits that grow there and we have also made some delicious Caribbean food. Together we have been reading the book J is for Jamaica and we have found out lots of interesting facts about the island. We have made our own Caribbean islands and created some beautiful pictures of sunny beaches and palm trees. We have enjoyed lots of outdoor learning, we have used sand, water, coloured rice and water beads to help us learn about capacity, we have enjoyed reading in our book tent and even paddling in our own version of a Caribbean beach!

As part of our topic, Caribbean, Poppies have been researching where it is on a world floor map. After learning that it is one of the hottest places in the world, we explored the texture, size, smell and taste of the exotic fruits that grow there. We then used Caribbean ingredients to design our own healthy smoothies. As always, a fun week in Poppies!
