After a very busy Healthy Living Week in School this week has been an almost normal one! The weather of the Bank Holiday weekend ensured that when we were back in school on Tuesday, staff and pupils were very happy after imbibing in sunshine – including me!
Well done to Team Maple for a very successful overnight stay at Caldecotte. There were some amazing photographs and everyone certainly had a wonderful time with lots of positive feedback.
On Friday we had our first session with staff from Soundabout delivering a ‘Sounds Wild Session’ for pupils supported by staff. We held this in our Forest Schools area on the field and our two permanent gazebos. What a wonderful time was had by all, the pupils were really engaged and the staff learnt a lot too. Fantastic stuff. And there is more to come! Well done to Sharon for organising this.
Next Thursday we have our Outdoor Learning Day where all classes will be focussing on aspects of learning outdoors relating to our current topic of the Caribbean. It will be a wonderful, interactive day for all our pupils.
Staff are working hard on the events of the week beginning May 21st. Please remember that the 21st is a staff training day, but then on the 22nd we have a day of entertainment from a steel pan band and the following day is the first of our sports mornings.
Hopefully the sun will shine down on us!
Finally, all our thoughts and prayers are with Rochelle’s family. We have you in our hearts and minds this weekend but especially so on Monday the day of her funeral. We will always remember her.
Take care everyone - and live life to the full.
