A slightly different week this week. I was on residential with a group of pupils and staff at The Calvert Trust in Devon. All pupils and staff really excelled – we were well supported in our two groups by Cat, Tyler and John. The weather was kind to us - amazingly so for November.
Back at school arrangements have been sorted for our new bucket swing and other items to be installed at the rear of school just left of Brabham Classroom. We are thrilled with this as it will make a huge difference to the classes in that area. Thanks goes to Darren Hayes and his team for sorting this out – especially the funding! This is all happening the last week in November - a Christmas present for the school!
Work on Remembrance continued this week and Sam has updated some of the displays in school to reflect this memorable occasion. Our special bunting will remain in place as a mark of respect until we decorate for our Christmas celebrations. The Remembrance festivities were emotional for many of us last weekend – we must remember and never forget.
Obviously, a highlight of the week in school was the focus on Children in Need. I was sorry to not be there for the day, but I know that pupils and staff embraced the theme of jazzy leggings, or loud shirts or like some did – dress up as Pudsey! Thank you all for your contributions – the total raised will be sorted next week.
We said ‘Goodbye and Good Luck’ to Andy our ‘so much more than a bus driver’ yesterday. We will all miss him, but hope that he enjoys his new job and wish him all the very best but we do hope that he might consider returning at some point in the future.
Please remember that on Monday the pupils leave school at 1;30pm due to our Parents Consultation Afternoon. We will look forward to seeing you.
Hoping that you are all having a good weekend.
