28th April

As always after a holiday it was good to see the pupils back in school on Tuesday. Everyone seemed happy to be in their usual daily routine – staff as well as pupils!

Over the holiday Dawn and the cleaning team had done a wonderful job in ‘sprucing up’ classrooms all ready for this next term, before their very deep clean during the summer holidays. Sam updated some of the displays within school and  thanks to Jenny’s pre planning over the academic year we had several checks on equipment as required by health and safety completed too. All with positive outcomes. Tim was also in school and completed a lot of routine maintenance work. All of this makes the operational aspects of school life run smoothly during each term.

A huge ‘Thank You’ has to go to Amy and her team for organising and running the Joules fund raising event for the school this week. This was a lot of hard work for one evening, but a grand total of £856.25 was raised. As always this is very much appreciated and will be used for the benefit of the pupils.

Verity, Helen and Team PE have been working hard on the arrangements for our Healthy Living Week which starts tomorrow, an appropriate time following on from today’s London Marathon - lots of exciting activities have been planned for all pupils including a walk / bike ride to Willen, cheerleading, activities at Caldecotte, activities with a football coach and much, much more. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us. I am sure that everyone – pupils and staff will have a wealth of embracing experiences and have no doubt that there will be some wonderful photographs.  Please remember to send in a change of clothes  etc for your son / daughter each day. We are all looking forward to this week and will all embrace it with ‘gusto!’

Hoping that everyone is having a lovely weekend.
