This week has been a busy one in school – as are the next two final weeks of this academic year. It’s amazing to think that this school year is almost over – it feels that it has flown by!
Thank you to everyone who came to the Summer Fete last Saturday – the hottest day of the year so far. Frances has just informed me that we raised a grand total of £2, 237.30 and as always, the 30p is very important! This money will be used to support off site activities and classroom resources during the next academic year. We do appreciate everyone’s contribution to this, including staff giving up time over a weekend to attend and help out, as well as Brad and Kobold for providing us with music and entertainment.
Friday’s café was in support of Strep B and all staff were positive in wearing yellow as were the majority of the pupils. Donations from staff and café visitors will be counted and the amount raised will be noted in next week’s Friday Letter.
Please do remember that school closes at 1:30pm tomorrow and from 2pm – 4pm we have our parent’s consultation afternoon. All our end of year subject reports as well as some photographs from this year will be emailed to you, as we are not printing out reports this year. As an eco-school we are trying to save paper, plus cut down the expense of copying over 170 reports!
This Tuesday and the following Tuesday are our Transition afternoon / day where the pupils will be spending time with their new class groups. Exciting times!
Letters regarding the Summer Activity Scheme were sent out this week. Please can you all ensure that payment is sent in as soon as possible, as well as the medical consent form. Should you no longer require any sessions that have been allocated, please inform school so as these can be given to those parents / carers who have requested additional days.
The build for the new classrooms will start on Monday July 22nd about which we are all very excited. At the same time, we are hoping that the roof of the hydrotherapy pool will be sorted so that it will be fully operational as close to the September start of school as possible.
Hoping that everyone is having a good weekend.
