30th November St Andrew's Day

‘Twas the week before Christmas’ begins at The Redway School. We are still affected by sickness which has had an impact on both staff and pupils, but we have remained positive and open – which has been a challenge, but everyone rose to it.

However, I would like to ask, yet again for pupils not to come in to school if they are unwell, even with a slight cold as this can impact on others – staff included.

We have started practicing our Christmas songs for all three of our concerts and are missing Judi – writer of our famous Shepherd’s Song who is absent from school due to ill health, so we all will be thinking of her when we perform her special song, wishing her a successful recovery and return to work.

During our staff training day on Friday there was an exceptionally positive feeling across school. Not only did teams decorate the school, ready for Christmas, but they also had time for class meetings as well as a special breakfast cooked by the fantastic team in the kitchen.

I have no doubt that when the pupils return on Monday they will be filled with ‘awe and wonder’ as the school looks really beautiful.

A huge thanks has to go to everyone – from parents, friends of staff, local residents and businesses, and companies who have responded to our request for Christmas Trees and decorations – it is down to you that the school looks beautiful – Thank You.

This week brings the first of our Christmas Concerts at Christ the Cornerstone Church at 2pm on Thursday. This is for some pupils in Brabham and Transitions, as well as all of those in Aston Martin, Arrows,  Mercedes, Jaguar, Wolverton, and Woughton. We look forward to seeing you there.

We are really appreciative of all the donations that we have received so far for our Christmas Fayre on Monday December 9th. We welcome donations of toys, bric a brac, bottles and other such items for the tombola, as well as cakes on the day. Please remember that raffle tickets are now on sale and we have some wonderful prizes. All monies raised will go towards a revamp of the soft play room which is looking rather sad at present.

Hoping that everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
