11th January 2020

Happy New Year to you all and all the very best for 2020.

The first week back at school after Christmas is always a challenging one – dark mornings and nights, dismal weather and little ’sparkle and shine.’ However, once the pupils arrived back in school on Tuesday morning with their happy, smiling faces and excitement the ‘sparkle and shine’ returned to us all. We were so pleased to welcome them back.

This week has been a settled one in school -  everyone was happy to engage in all the learning opportunities presented to them.

We welcomed our new teacher Ali to The Redway and welcomed back several STA’s from maternity leave – it was definitely good to have them back with us.

A highlight of the week was of course for some, the pantomime – which for those pupils who attended revelled in the slapstick humour and fun.

Di led the first assembly of the new calendar year, as she always does, talking about New Year Resolutions and Traditions.

Our two new classrooms are now complete – we have the official handover on Tuesday – all we now need to do is to timetable the move for those classes who will be revelling in all its space, plus put together a plan to develop the outside area. But we are very pleased with how they are looking and the amount of space which they have, it will make a significant difference to the classes that will be moving in there. We will be organising a date and time for parents / carers to come along and see the new classrooms, later this half term.

On Friday, we have some essential training happening in school, so the Transitions Department is closed for the day to be able to facilitate this.

We have lots of exciting things planned for this term and next which I have no doubt the pupils will all enjoy.

Hoping that everyone is having a lovely weekend.
