1st February 2020
January always feels like a very long month after the Christmas period, the dark mornings and evenings together with the dull, dismal weather can have an impact on everyone. But, as always at The Redway we have thoroughly embraced this and throughout January we have, in the words of the song, been ‘accentuating the positive!’
Although it has been a quiet week in school there has also been a lot happening.
Furzton Class moved to their new larger classroom and revelled in the additional space they now have. Staff are gradually preparing the new classrooms for when the pupils move into them after the half term holiday. The outside area has been cleaned and tided – it is much improved.
We celebrated Chinese New Year in classes and assembly, which Peter led. Some classes made their own Chinese Style Lunch which smelt delicious down the corridors. The pupils definitely enjoyed eating what they had prepared – they looked very happy when I popped in to see them.
During the week several companies have been into school to look at, measure and suggest updates for our soft playroom, which does look very sad. We are now awaiting further details (including costs!) Any fundraising contributions will be more than welcome.
Each class has been preparing for our MFL activities which are next week where we have decided to have a focus upon Japan, and its culture to link in with this year’s summer Olympics. I have no doubt that there will be some wonderful photographs from all the varied activities.
Hoping that everyone is having a good weekend.
