A quiet week in school – a busy one down in Devon where a group of pupils and staff went to The Calvert Trust for a four night stay. News from the residential: Everyone had a great time and the pupils excelled rising to all the challenges that were presented to them, definitely out of their comfort zones. Neve was happy to be at school in her PJs!
Saturday 18th of November 2017
On Friday morning there was a beautiful sunrise as I drove towards Milton Keynes and also a lovely ‘red sky at night’ when I left to drive home. These moments of nature’s pure delights are uplifting and reinvigorate the soul – especially after a busy week at school. The autumn is my favourite season due to all the wonderful colours it brings. There has been a lot happening in school this week, exciting teaching and learning as well as making plans for new children, next term and...

Half term week – I hope everyone has had a good and relaxing time – enjoying a lot of sunshine despite the dampness of Thursday. As ever, we always make the most of a school holiday to have maintenance work done, repair, clean and paint! This is what has happened during this week.  ‘Upstairs’ in Transitions, more work has been done on the conservatory – installing a new ceiling, lighting, heating and flooring, plus new guttering around the outside. Also the doorways...

This will I am sure continue when the pupils arrive back on Tuesday 31st after the holiday. Friday was an emotional day in school, we...

Week 3 of a new academic year is always an interesting one and this week certainly was! This week and usually week 4 is when the ‘honeymoon’ period with our pupils is over and they present us all with some challenges to resolve, which we have done and embraced in style! Our new pupils and staff have settled in extremely well and have embraced the special Redway ethos. When walking around school and the Transitions Department, throughout the week this was apparent – everyone was very...

Our first full week back at school has been a productive one. Our new pupils have settled well into their class groups and our new staff are embracing The Redway ethos! We have now worked a full week of new class timetables and have ‘ironed out’ any slight hiccups or changes that needed to be made so hopefully all will be well next week with no further changes required. A highlight of the week happened on Wednesday – our ‘Dahlicious Dress Up Day!’ We had a host of Mr...

Saturday 5th of August 2017
This years Summer Activity Scheme ended yesterday and it signifies the end of another academic year for me and also to the staff who worked, without whom it would not be possible to offer this addition to the school year. We certainly have had a lot of fun, from visits out, including paddle boarding, canoeing (in the rain!), kite flying on Dunstable Downs, karting, a successful trip to the cinema to name a few. Staff in Transitions have ensured that the pupils based there have continued with their...

The summer holidays have arrived!  Di, the Leadership Team, and the school staff, as well as myself appreciate how difficult this long holiday is for our pupils, parents and carers. Some of us find it a bit daunting too and are looking forward to September! However, we have had a fantastic week one of the summer activity scheme. The staff have been very proactive in arranging different activities for the pupils to enjoy – both off site and on site. Most pupils swam every day - we even made...

The last week of an academic year is always one full of happiness, emotions and things to be sorted! This week was such for everyone. All teachers and support staff ensured that the last week in school was a positive one for all the pupils with lots of great interactions and communication opportunities. The highlight of the week though was our Carnival Day on Thursday. The weather was not great at the start of the day – but we overcame this and ignored it, so we just got a little damp! We...
