Palms are Class of the Week 26th February (Palms)

Friday, February 26th 2010

Palms have been involved in a variety of activities this term.  We have been continuing with our mini-enterprise, Palms Produce Stall, where we have many happy customers.

In science we have been investigating how materials change. We have made bird cakes, Vinegar cake and German buns.  Much enjoyed by all including Courtney because we use dairy-free ingredients.

Other activities enjoyed by all Palms students are the MiLE room and the Big Drum.  Both these activities enable differentiation for all Palms students allowing individual expression and communication by all.

We have also been continuing with our offsite visits which have included IKEA, Tesco, Frosts and Christ the Cornerstone.  Our end of term visit was to 360 Activity Centre at Knowlhill - It was a very big hit with the students, Siobhan even drove a bumper car on her own!

We ended the half-term with a celebration of the Chinese New Year by sharing a Chinese meal with our friends in Hazels class.  This was a great hit and everyone was very full at the end of the meal.  A big thank you to Jenny in the kitchen, for preparing it for us.
