Diane Walker : Deputy Headteacher

The Redway School is a wonderfully warm school and I am proud to have been part of this family since January 2006 as Deputy Headteacher. I specialise in working with students in the process of transitioning to adulthood and also students with profound complex needs who have been my greatest teachers and to whom I am ever grateful.

More recently I have been inspired by the opening of our new Transitions site and have enjoyed leading this amazing team. Our Redway team of students and staff inspire me everyday to achieve more and push to be the very best we can, to make the most of every precious moment and we do! We draw our motivation from each other, from our students and our colleagues; we celebrate each other and laugh together every single day. The Redway team is truly the best team I have ever worked in, I feel privileged and honoured to have this opportunity in my life.

My work is my passion and I spend a lot of time researching and preparing for school activities but also love to learn new things and love to share these with others. I am a practical person at heart and enjoy creating and crafting especially fiber arts and making traditional, simple, musical instruments, which are widely used in school. I also enjoy yoga, yoga therapy, sound therapy and any opportunity learn something new that I could potentially share with our Redway team.
