Lorraine McGinley : Associate Governor
My name is Lorraine McGinley I am married and have two children, my son is a minister of youth and my daughter has followed me and works in care for people with a learning disability. My interests are walking, cooking and organising social events and enjoying them myself.
I have spent the last 36 years not only working in the care field as a job but as a dedication and determination to make a difference for people with a learning disability. My passion for the role started when I did work experience at Queens School and Redway when I was 13 years old and this has been my drive to carry on in this line of work.
I have worked in residential services for adults for most of my career and have worked for Bucks CC prior to The Fremantle Trust taking over 25 years ago. I was made manager of my first care home 23 years ago since then I have been involved in the transition of four services to supported living and in the last 10 years been working in Milton Keynes. This has involved the supporting of people in their own homes and transitions from School, promoting independence and supporting long term care for people with complex care needs.
