Ruth Sylvester : Headteacher

I have had the privilege to be the Headteacher of The Redway School since 2005.

The Redway School is a wonderful and a very special place to be. We are extremely proud of all our pupils and staff, their achievements and accomplishments – however small they are all celebrated.  We are continually evaluating the work that we do and go from strength to strength. Our curriculum, together with the many different learning opportunities we offer our pupils is, we believe forward thinking taking into account both the physical and mental well being of all our pupils.

We are strongly supported by our parents and carers, Governors and other stakeholders with whom we have good relationships.

No one day is ever the same at The Redway School, but each day provides everyone with challenge, excitement and fun! Our pupils tell us that they feel safe and are proud learners as well as enjoying coming to school.

This embraces the way that I feel about The Redway School it is a truly remarkable place to work.

Leading a split site, large special school means that I capitalise on what leisure time I have, but outside school I am a keen runner, enjoy good music, and of course being on the beach in Portugal!
