Simon Hodges : Senior Teacher

I have been a qualified teacher for 12 years, after graduating from De Montfort University with an honour degree in Physical Education with Qualified Teacher Status. I have always enjoyed being close to people with disabilities and worked with Brent Mencap from the age of 16.

My first teaching job was at The Redway School, as a PE Teacher. It would be fair to say I absolutely loved the school and developed so much during the 9 years I spent here. In 2014, I joined another school to continue my professional development and advance my leadership and management skills. After nearly 3 years away the opportunity arose to apply for a job back at The Redway, the school I adore! I was fortunate enough to be appointed in the role of Senior Teacher and am really looking forward to what the future holds for me and this fantastic school.

The pupils at The Redway are second to none. The staff are the most supportive and caring I know. I cannot speak highly enough of the whole school community. This school really is the best school you can work at!

Outside of work I have two young boys who I love to spend time with, and they put a smile on my face every day. My own hobbies include playing sports, especially football. I enjoy going to watch Speedway, and meeting up with friends at the cinema and quizzes.
