Residential Visit to The Calvert Trust November 2016

Thursday 15th of December 2016
On one of the wettest November days ever 10 pupils, 9 staff and a parent travelled down to The Calvert Trust, Exmoor, Devon. As the weather conditions were not good for driving and we had been advised that the usual roads into the centre were stating to flood we took extra care. We all arrived safely and the pupils and staff (especially those who had not been before) were very excited! We worked in two groups, but all experienced the same activities – the challenge course, bush craft (it was a...

Daisies Class End of Year Trip 2016

Jake feeding the goats
Friday 22nd of July 2016
Daisies had a fantastic time on their end of year trip. We went to Green Dragon Eco Farm. To begin with we tested our driving skills on the go karts. They were a little tricky as we had to peddle, but they went very fast, especially when we went down the hill. We ventured to the play area; which of course we all loved. The climbing frame was very high, but we managed to climb up, go across the wobbly bridges and go down the wiggly slide. We even tested out the soft play area and jumped in the ball pool....

Rowan Class End of Year Trip 2016

Rowan class
Thursday 21st of July 2016
We had the most incredible day at Gulliver’s for our end of year trip. We filled it with adventure, bravery and many proud moments. We started off in two groups where we challenged ourselves on the fast moving ‘castle ride’ or at a slower pace on the Gulliver’s train. We all then decided that a trip down the jungle river in a boat would be fun where we spotted lots of animals and had lots of giggles as we watched each boat splash into the water. We went rollercoaster crazy after...

Also in this garden were chickens which we enjoyed listening to. We then walked around the walled flower gardens which had the most wonderful smells. Heading...

Daffodils Class End of Year Trip 2016

Wednesday 13th of July 2016
Daffodils Class visited West Wittering Beach on the 12th July.  The forecast was not good, and it rained the entire way there.  However, our spirts were not affected by this, and we were over the moon on our arrival at the beach.  The sun and the tide were both out and the water was quite warm. We changed into our swimsuits and most of the boys went straight into the sea after setting up “camp” on the beach.   Alex K and a few friends decided to build sand castles...

Buttercups Class End of Year Trip 2016

Wednesday 13th of July 2016
The weather was not on Buttercups side this year, however in true Redway style we embraced the challenge and changed our plans slightly to reflect this. We started our day by taking a leisurely walk to the marina to feed the ducks.  The pupils all showed their enjoyment in their individual ways.  Some found the noisy quacking ducks, splashing and fighting to get the food an exciting part of the visit others just revelled in feeling the wind in their hair and listening to the rustle of the...

Maple Class End of Year Trip 2016

Wednesday 13th of July 2016
Maple were lucky enough to have an end of term trip to Whipsnade Zoo. We arrived in good time and the general consensus was that we had to visit the Discovery Centre first. We took great pleasure in meeting some of the smaller, creepier residents although our absolute favourites had to be the mongoose which took almost as much interest in us as we did in them! After this we walked down to the farm to meet Tizer and Tarka the largest species of donkey in the world. We also met a trio of rather...

On Monday some of our older pupils had the opportunity to take to the slopes, having to use their skills of balance and...

Monday 12th of October 2015
Daffodils and Poppies classes recently went to Tring Museum, where the children were able to observe different mammals and animals and some of their skeletons.  The children were very interested in the large animal displays especially the giant Sloth’s skeleton, and many of the children asked if it was a dinosaur.  It was a very busy day at the Museum, but the children remained focussed and were all very keen to talk about what they had seen and what  animals...

Wednesday 22nd of July 2015
This summer Caterpillars have enjoyed the opportunity to take part in sailing at the Caldecott centre twice.  Firstly as part of Healthy Living Week, then for our end of year class trip out. During the trips we experienced many different feelings and sensations. On our first trip the weather was dull and windy which meant we experienced the rocking to and fro of the boats as the wind moved them across the water quite quickly. We also got to feel the spray of the water being blown on our...

One of our favourite animals in the zoo were the gorillas. The penguins and sea lions were very interesting as they jumped in and out of the water; we even saw nemo and dory at the sea life. Monday 20th of July 2015
For our end of term trip we visited Mead Open Farm for the day. The weather was nice and warm and we enjoyed the opportunity to see all the different farm animals, stroking and even feeding some of them. To top it all of, we had a great time using the soft play areas at the farm. All-in-all it was a fantastic day, even though the bus broke down on the way home… Benjamin didn’t complain, as he loved watching the cars from the bus window as we waited for the breakdown van!
